International Yearbook of Adult Education

The International Yearbook of Adult Education was first issued in 1969. It was founded by Joachim H. Knoll, continued by Klaus Künzel and is currently edited by Michael Schemmann at the University of Cologne.

Each volume of the journal is dedicated to a key topic of the field of continuing education which is being discussed by the contributing authors from a scientific perspective. At the same time each volume pursues an internationally-comparative perspective. Against this background the Yearbook offers a bilingual forum: In addition to German articles each volume contains English articles as well.

Beyond the articles that are dedicated to the key topic of the volume the category ‘Miscellaneous’ includes articles that focus other interesting developments. Furthermore the journal includes book reviews of current publications from the sector of adult and continuing education.

All articles except the book reviews pass a double-blind review process.
